The
most revolutionary and powerful absorbent pad on the market is
made from Oclansorb, 100% organic, biodegradable, prime Canadian sphagnum
peat. It was developed over 15 years of
research and manufacturing using the technologies employed in the
production of cardboard and paper. This led to the
development of an excellent, mat like product capable of absorbing and encapsulating
hydrocarbons, including oil
base paints, without disintegrating or accepting water. It
complies with EPA leachate and ISO 9002 standards of
both the United States and Canada. Peat
Pads and Rolls are made of Oclansorb, a high quality Canadian sphagnum
peat that has been heat treated to render it oleophilic and hydrophobic, mixed with small quantities of Kraft pulp for
binding purposes. The cellular structure of the heat treated
peat activates a micro capillary "wicking" action
that absorbs and encapsulate up to 20 times its weight in
hydrocarbons.
The Oclansorb in Peat Pads and Rolls is oleophilic and
hydrophobic, it will instantly absorb all hydrocarbons while
rejecting all water. Once
absorbed and encapsulated, the hydrocarbons cannot be released
again to the environment whether squeezed and stepped upon or
exposed to weather and the passage of time. Peat Pads and
Rolls are 100% organic and actively aid and speed up the
process of the biodegradation of the encapsulated
hydrocarbons.
Peat Pads and Rolls are easy to apply, easy to handle and easy to
disposed of after use. Their organic and encapsulating properties
ensure that entrapped hydrocarbons will not be released to
environment and that rapid biodegradation will occur.
They can be safely incinerated or disposed of in landfills where
